Description
This gorgeous rhododendron bush has kept me interested a whole week, l took lots of different shots , seeing it slowly bloomed and changed shades really amazed me. The buds, starting in crimpson then later lighter shade of red and to sweet pink when fully opened and eventually fading in a pale old pink. This series shows different stages captured and enhanced to bring out their true beauty.

They are so beautiful! Our first rhodo was a reddish pink and, like yours, the blossoms got paler as they opened. Unfortunately it succumbed to some plant disease that was endemic in our area at the time - about 20 years ago - but we still miss it. We have been several times to the beautiful Keukenhof Gardens in Holland, where everything is beautifully laid out and perfect, yet the flowers in our own garden, which come up year after year, are like children that have grown up and left home and then return to visit every so often. We still miss our original red rhodo (a picture of which you will find in my Garden Flowers Collection), but we know that one day we will find it blooming again in The Garden Of The Lord.

Kathryn, it's exactly what happened to my plant last year so it didn't bloom at all and l had to trim it down a little bit. It's now looking healthy again but I'm yet to see if it will bloom well this year. Thanks so much for your lovely comment and support!
